Professor in mechanics and materials, and aeronautical engineering at the University of Minnesota. Theodore Mentel was born on September 15, 1926 in Bienkowka, Poland. He earned his B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1950. He earned his M.S. in Applied Math in 1954 and his Ph.D. in 1956 from Brown University.
